Vail Vacation: Its All About Having Fun!
Vail vacation and the holiday of a lifetime!
Working on the basis that most resorts or tourist destinations can be summed up in a single sentence, let us then describe Vail vacations as succinctly as possible – Bavarian style spas and great food along with wonderful natural and man-made attractions and famously warm hospitality in biggest ski area in USA. What do you think? Few things are missing, isn’t it? Ok, let’s make a longer list then.
First comes the skiing and everything else fits in after that. There are almost 200 ski trails here, ranging from beginners level to advanced, and plenty of chair lifts to take you back to the top to do it all over again. Being the biggest ski area in the country, it is also generally ranked as being the best by ski experts. The history of skiing in the area, and the town itself, dates back to the 1960s.
Next are accommodations. This is wonderfully varied with luxury European style spas and condo rentals being equally great options. Vail vacations are usually memorable for the top quality service which the hotels are famed for. Food wise you will be spoiled with the choices of top class restaurants rubbing shoulders with, well, more top class restaurants actually. The oyster bars, Italian restaurants, and barbeque grills in town should keep most people satisfied and filled with enough energy to go back and hit the slopes again and again.
Regarding other attractions in Vail, we have the ski related ones and the non ski related ones. The Colorado Ski Museum includes the Colorado Ski Hall of Fame and is both interesting and informative. For fun which all the family can enjoy then, Adventure Ridge Family Park has mini snowmobiles for the kids and a whole host of other great things to do. Waterfalls and rock gardens add a relaxing feel of the world’s highest botanical gardens, The Alpine Gardens. It’s not every day that you can listen to live jazz while buying fresh fruits and vegetables, natural honey, crafts and all sorts of other interesting things. The Vail Farmers Market is the biggest in the Rocky Mountain region and is a great place to pass a few hours.
You don’t have to speak much French to know what comes after a day of skiing. Whether you prefer a quiet drink in the bar of your hotel or to hit the bars and clubs around town you will find that Vail vacations come with a variety of nightlife options, with live music being very much part of the Vail nightlife experience.
Vail is a year round destination with warm summers and cold winters. Fishing, hikes, mountain biking and horse riding are just some of the sporty alternatives to skiing which are available during Vail vacations. Getting to Vail and then getting around it are easy. Eagle County Airport is nearby and while Vail is refreshingly light on cars, the transport is excellent, including the biggest free shuttle bus network in the country. Being located in the Rocky Mountains and the White River Forest there is no shortage of spectacular views or natural wonders here and in the surrounding area. Add in the great shopping, film festival, music festival and golf courses and you can see that the idea of summing up Vail vacations in a single sentence is never going to work.
