Vail Vacation: Its All About Having Fun!

Vail vacation and the holiday of a lifetime!
Working on the basis that most resorts or tourist destinations can be summed up in a single sentence, let us then describe Vail vacations as succinctly as possible – Bavarian style spas and great food along with wonderful natural and man-made attractions and famously warm hospitality in biggest ski area in USA. What do you think?  Few things are missing, isn’t it? Ok, let’s make a longer list then.

First comes the skiing and everything else fits in after that. There are almost 200 ski trails here, ranging from beginners level to advanced, and plenty of chair lifts to take you back to the top to do it all over again. Being the biggest ski area in the country, it is also generally ranked as being the best by ski experts. The history of skiing in the area, and the town itself, dates back to the 1960s.

Next are accommodations. This is wonderfully varied with luxury European style spas and condo rentals being equally great options. Vail vacations are usually memorable for the top quality service which the hotels are famed for.  Food wise you will be spoiled with the choices of  top class restaurants rubbing shoulders with, well, more top class restaurants actually. The oyster bars, Italian restaurants, and barbeque grills in town should keep most people satisfied and filled with enough energy to go back and hit the slopes again and again.

Regarding other attractions in Vail, we have the ski related ones and the non ski related ones. The Colorado Ski Museum includes the Colorado Ski Hall of Fame and is both interesting and informative.  For fun which all the family can enjoy then, Adventure Ridge Family Park has mini snowmobiles for the kids and a whole host of other great things to do. Waterfalls and rock gardens add a relaxing feel of the world’s highest botanical gardens, The Alpine Gardens.  It’s not every day that you can listen to live jazz while buying fresh fruits and vegetables, natural honey, crafts and all sorts of other interesting things. The Vail Farmers Market is the biggest in the Rocky Mountain region and is a great place to pass a few hours.

You don’t have to speak much French to know what comes after a day of skiing. Whether you prefer a quiet drink in the bar of your hotel or to hit the bars and clubs around town you will find that Vail vacations come with a variety of nightlife options, with live music being very much part of the Vail nightlife experience.

Vail is a year round destination with warm summers and cold winters. Fishing, hikes, mountain biking and horse riding are just some of the sporty alternatives to skiing which are available during Vail vacations.  Getting to Vail and then getting around it are easy. Eagle County Airport is nearby and while Vail is refreshingly light on cars, the transport is excellent, including the biggest free shuttle bus network in the country.  Being located in the Rocky Mountains and the White River Forest there is no shortage of spectacular views or natural wonders here and in the surrounding area. Add in the great shopping, film festival, music festival and golf courses and you can see that the idea of summing up Vail vacations in a single sentence is never going to work.

Get ready for your Vail skiing vacation:  Great resource

Vail Vacation Rentals to Feel Right At Home

Comfortable Vail vacation rentals!
For some people the idea of going to a top class ski resort like Vail in Colorado goes hand in hand with the thought of staying in a quality spa hotel and taking advantage of heated outdoor pools, Jacuzzis and award winning restaurants. Some vail vacation means funof the top hotels in Vail are extremely enticing to the extent that looking at Vail vacation rentals do not even come into the equation for a large number of tourists.

We all have different needs though, and many other travelers want a more homely feel to their stay in Vail. This is where the area’s extensive range of Vail vacation rentals really hits the mark. Whether you are looking for a condo, cabin, cottage, apartment or villa then you will undoubtedly find something which suits you and a price which makes you forget about those spa hotels.

One of the main reasons that families choose to rent a home for use during their vacation is to have more space. A couple who travel light can just about get by in a hotel room but a big family, or people who like to take a lot of luggage with them, will discover that even the best designed hotel room can only hold so much stuff before you need to start leaving half full suitcases on top of tables or on the floor.

The chance to get a break from the kitchen is a reason often cited for choosing a hotel. If you prefer home cooking, have special dietary requirements or you just prefer a quiet family meal with all of you gathered around the kitchen table then Vail vacation rentals probably appeal to you more than the idea of eating in a restaurant every day. Cooking in a holiday home is also generally a lot cheaper than eating every single meal in a restaurant every day of the vacation, especially if you are travelling with a large family.

Of course, you can still take advantage of Vail’s many quality restaurants but you will now be doing it on your terms and eating out when you choose to do so, rather than it being the only option. In fact, eating out in restaurants every day can become a little bit boring, no matter how wonderful they are, and it is one of those pleasures which are perhaps best enjoyed occasionally rather than constantly.  If you choose well then your choice of Vail vacation rentals may come with spare bedrooms, a swimming pool and a balcony offering spectacular views of the area. It may even come with a yard in which the kids can enjoy a few hours playtime.

As well as being a great choice for family vacations, Vail vacation rentals can also appeal to groups of friends travelling together. Rather than all of you staying in separate hotel rooms it is probably a lot more fun and a god bit cheaper to stay together in a house. That way you can cook together, spend more time together and have late night bedside chats or watch movies together as though you were in your own home.  A close look through the many Vail vacation rental sites on the internet will give you a whole world of possibilities to make your stay in Vail more customized to your lifestyle and needs.

Vail Valley Equals A Perfect Round of Golf!

Vail Golf!
People keep associating Vail Resort Valley with skiing.  But,  did you know that there are many outdoor activities that you can enjoy here?  One of those is golf.  Here, you’ll be able to try a distinct golfing experience that only high altitude locations like The Rockies can offer.  If you try to recall your Physics 101, you’ll remember that higher altitudes are exposed to a relatively weaker (downward) gravitational force.

So, that translates to longer time-of-flights for projectiles like your golf balls. Therefore, don’t be surprised if you notice a substantial increase in your range. You didn’t improve your drive; Mother Earth just softened her pull.

So, which golf courses are highly recommended? Here are our personal bests for each community:

Vail:
Vail Golf Club –
Here, you get to play on the Valley’s pioneering golf course with the Gore Range in its entire majestic splendor as a backdrop. The 18-hole course has a rating of 70.8 and a slope rating of 121.

Avon:
Eagle Vail Golf Course – The Willow Creek Course is a 9-hole course that gives you 6,819 yards of golfing space. It has a course rating of 71.3 and a slope rating of 131. On the other hand, the Eagle Vail Course has 18 holes where you can play over 6,819 yards of golf over Bent grass. The course rating is 71 while the slope rating is 127.

Beaver Creek:
Beaver Creek Golf Course –
With 18 holes and 6,646 yards of golf, this highly recommended course is rated at 69.2 and its slopes at 133. Unlike its neighbor, the Eagle Vail Golf Course, this one lets you play on Blue grass.

Edwards:
Since there is no golf course in Minturn, allow us to mention two golfing facilities from this town. Besides, being two of the biggest in the valley, you might want to try your newly discovered long-ranged drives here.

Sonnenalp Golf Club – This facility is the site of an 18-hole, 7059-yard course rated at 72.3 and a slope rating of 138.

Country Club of the Rockies – This second facility is actually larger, at 7367 yards. The 18-hole course is rated at 73.7 with a slope rating of 135 on Bent Grass.

Eagle:
Eagle Ranch Golf Course – This 7500-yard course was designed by no less than Arnold Palmer. It has a course rating of 74.8 and a slope rating of 141.

Actually, many of the courses in the valley as well as those mentioned above were designed by world-renowned golfers who were captivated by the overall effect of Vail Valley.  We know it will captivate you too.

Vail Mountain is the largest single mountain ski resort in the planet and its magnificence is underscored by its diverse terrain, excellent powder, and extensive area. This is further reinforced by the resort management’s attention to detail, carefully planning which slopes to groom to provide each skier a unique experience tailor-made for his level of expertise.   The drawing power of the place is so great that it attracts droves of celebrities and wealthy personalities every year. The Gondola ends at Eagles Nest where you can catch a magnificent view of the surrounding landscape as well as the Town of Vail below.

Families can take part in skating and tubing activities among others.   If a vacation is like an investment, then you would certainly want to put yours in one where the dividends are sure to be bountiful.
