Use the Convenience of the Vail Shuttle To and From DIA

Convenience at its best...the Vail shuttle!

Are you planning on a ski vacation to Vail Colorado? You’ll want to bring your skis but you can leave your car at home! You won’t need it! Why is that, you ask? Vail Colorado is a quaint village of about 5000 nestled at the base of Vail Mountain. It is designed to look like a Bavarian village, which have no cars in their streets at all. Vail does allow some cars in some places, but it is generally a car-free area. While that may be unusual just about anywhere else in the US, it’s just the regular way of life in Vail.

How do they get around? They use the Vail Shuttle system…

...and guess what… it’s free! Vail has the largest shuttle system in the US with buses arriving and departing all over the town of Vail on a regular basis. As well, they’ve got express buses that take you right to the base of the mountain. With that in mind, your vacation just got a whole lot easier. Fly into Eagle County airport, located less than an hour away in Gypsum, and take a shuttle from the airport to Vail. Then, use the shuttle system to get around Vail or simply walk around yourself. After all, the town isn’t that big. The Vail shuttle system has their own website with downloadable schedules for the spring, summer, and winter months, so you can plan your trip ahead of time without any inconvenience or wondering. Check ahead of time and compare the location of your hotel with the route of the bus.

The vans that are on longer routes have ski racks...

...mounted on them in the winter and bike racks in the summer. If it’s just a small run and there are no ski racks on the bus, you can bring your skis right onto the bus! You’ll also find that your hotel may provide a shuttle that is separate to the Vail shuttle system to bring you to Vail Mountain to do your skiing. You’ll want to call your hotel ahead of time and find out for sure. Can you get out of town? Depending on the time of year and the popularity of the other places, you may find a shuttle to take you from Vail to Snowmass and beyond to Aspen… they’re not far off of Interstate 70 and they serve up some great skiing, too, if you’re looking for something different to do.

Vail Colorado has been ranked the best skiing destination in North America. And with their amazing shuttle system, it is so easy to get around with the hassle of renting a car (or driving your own) and worrying about safety concerns or whether or not it will start in the cold. You’ll meet so many people in Vail who are out to enjoy a great skiing vacation… and you’ll be surprised to discover that their shuttle system is just another place you can go where there’s a ski party happening!
